Default Revolver "the first magnum" 50th anniversary

Hi gents,

Overhere in the Netherlands there is a nice anniversary model revolver for sale.
Made in 1985 for the anniversary of the "first Magnum"
the revolver is in Bright blue finish, 5 inch barrel, with Goncalo Alves grips and a gold inlay.

the seller is asking * 1,250.- for it, which is about US $ 1,790.-

What would be a normal price for you guys over in the States?

Greets,

J.W.

$800-$1000 sounds low to me. I would think it would go for $1200-$1400 or more. Used Smiths seem to be a hot item right now. They are way over priced. I've been looking for a model 27 myself but I'm not willing to pay NIB prices for a used revolver.

Visited my local gun shop this afternoon. As luck would have it they have this very same model, unshot, for $995 asking price. Would come down some with a little dickering.

Smile I have 2 of these guns...

the first I acquired in 2006 at Rock Island Auction for $805. all in but no display case. The second was bought during 2007 in a private sale with a dealer for $750. including display case, papers and cardboard box and tools.

Based on these distant trades, I'd guess $1000. would be about right for a complete package in the US currently.

To me a gun like this is of limited value.
I would much rather buy a 1955 Pre-27 that is ready for more good honest use than a pretty commerative.

But to each his own
