I recently bought a 686+ 2.5" and may want to put it on my CCW permit. If I carry it for CCW I want at least a front night sight on it.

I have a brand new 325 Night Guard and really like the Cylinder & Slide extreme duty fixed rear/XS 24/7 front sight combo but don't know if it will work for my 686.

I've searched quite a bit for the answer but haven't been able to find it yet. The 325NG is at S&W for a factory defect repair from the first shooting session with it, so I won't have it in my hands again for a couple more weeks. I was going to take the sights off it and put them on my 686 to test them out.

So can anybody tell me if the same sight setup on the 325NG will work for for the 2.5" barrel 686? I would prefer a fixed rear sight/front night sight combo.

The options I've seen so far are the Meprolight fixed front/adjustable rear 3-dot sight and the XS fixed front night sight with rear adjustable white line sight.
