Last week my local pusher told me that he had a line on a Model 65. It seems that a couple of years ago, I passed on one, buying a Model 66-1 instead. I went back the next day, but the Model 65 was gone. Oh, well.
I've looked patiently at gun shows, but not having any luck locally. I had considered GB, but really preferred FTF.
This morning, he called me, and told me he had just gotten in five of them. A local bank's security department decided to rid themselves of some extras, and these were included, along with some DA S&W 40's.
I got my pick, and I chose this one. It has a couple of nicks on the top strap, and has been carried a lot, but shot little. It was built some time in 1994, has Uncle Mike's Combat stocks, and the action is as smooth as silk. It locks up extremely tight, and has no end shake at all. My wife even thinks it's a nice revolver, and she mostly has no interest in my handguns.
Hmm. I think I'll call it "The Bank Dick's" gun. (OK, OK!!! Please forgive the pun!).
Enjoy the view!
