Default New to me Performance Center 625-7

It has a shorter than normal 45 ACP cylinder and a barrel that measures 5.25". The barrel extension between the frame and the cylinder is quite long. The barrel does not have a full underlug but rather one that has been cut back almost to the ejector rod housing, but a much different shape than a standard shrouded barrel. The cylinder is chamfered and the trigger is rounded with a overtravel stop installed.

What were these guns originally built for: IPSC, bullseye, or some other discipline? Is the rifling any different from a standard Model 1989?

See the Standard catalog of Smith and Wesson 3rd. edition bottom of page 355.

Listed as a model 625-6 designed by Jerry Miculek.
5 1/4" barrel ,reduced cylinder freebore, interchangeable front sight.
Etc. ,,,

A very neat gun.

If, for any reason you should want to trade or sell this one off,
please put old Allen Frame first in line.

This one will be an exceptional shooter.

Congrats,

Allen Frame

I've been looking for exactly this model for quite a few years in the hopes it is better than the 1989, which has a good rep for accuracy. My intent is to shoot bullseye with iron sights and use the dot that's on it only for testing ammo at 50 yards. I'll give a range report once I've received it and got sighted in.
