Default Bowen Rough Country Rear Sight for M27?

Hi,

for some time now I use a Weigand target sight blade on my M27-3, but this device seems less sturdy (lots of space between the blade and the rear sight's round body) and of quite soft material. I'd like to replace it. Unfortunately, due to the checkered top strap, I can find no target sight assembly that matches the tang of the M27. Hamilton Bowen offers a version of his Rough Country Rear Sight for older S&W models with the square tang. Does anyone know if this one is ribbed or checkered? Anyone who can share his experiences?

regards
Ulrich

His web site has a very good photo of the top of this sight. I have a couple of his rear sights on Rugers their quality is outstanding.

Note you will need to drill a hole in the new sight to mount it to the top strap. Also some of his sights are not click adjustable for windage but use opposing screws.

You should call him with your questions I have always found him to be patient with customers and very helpful.
