Default help with identifying special 442-2

So, i just bought an ANIB 442-2 as a backup carry gun. Haven't shot it yet, but handles beautifully and has a really smooth trigger pull. Strangely it has a logo that reads: "Northeast Tour Sturbridge MA 2009 First edition" and in tiny script "5-8" and can't make out the tiny word above it which could be a clue to what this is. Strange that they take the time, money, and effort to put something on a gun that is a mystery what they are commemorating. Also there is a map of new england surrounded by a ribbon with a star at the bottom and a gear. See the pics. I'm thinking it could be auto related? I've spent way too much time on google typing in all the criteria i can think of and can't find anything about the event. Any body have any idea what this is? I just would like to know what i'm carrying, like is it for a demon convention, geez who knows.
Is something that S&W does on consignment from the factory or done post shipment?
Also, appears to be applied ink or something not lasered, so possibly i can remove it with a solvent without effecting the black finish? Has anyone done this. I bought it for $315, so thought it was a great deal on a basically unused firearm.
thanks for any help anyone may have.
Ed
