Department of Corrections 64
There have been couple of different threads lately about a large number of these guns being available in central Ohio. Here is the one I picked up. It's a dash 5. Should clean up alright.

I got a used 4" 65-3 a couple days ago. Looked sort of rough but after a couple hours of some pretty hard rubbing it cleaned up very nicely. I actually worked up a sweat (I'm a retired lawyer and sweating was not something we did a whole lot -- it made the clients nervous).

Now THAT was funny!!
You and the OP need to post some pictures. I am picking up a 64 no dash w/ tapered barrel this weekend. Pretty excited about getting my hands on it. What did you use to clean it up with?

I'm also a huge fan of the 64. I know that there are a fair number of California Department of Corrections snubs out there for sale (GunsAmerica has featured them on its site for weeks) in the $375-400 range. I got mine recently, it's not marked "CDC" but I suspect that it probably has a law enforcement history even if it's from some other agency. These are great guns, perfect for carry and home defense.

MAsK, you asked, and nobody answered yet, but Flitz, does a very good job on stainless guns like the 64. I used it on my 67, and it worked quite well. Take it slow and easy, to get the finish you desire. Bob

If I had the cash I would be there just because. My father-in-law recently asked how much does a gun cost these days giving me the impression he is interested in something for HD besides his Winchester M12. I'm trying to get him up there and pick one out for him.

MacA, sorry I got your name wrong! Mother's Mag Wheel Polish is another one recommended, but haven't tried it. Show us what it looks like when done. Bob
