Would like some owners of the 625 V-Comp's opinions on the gun
Hi,
I really want a 625 V-Comp and have not had the pleasure to shoot one since they are not easy to come by, and was wondering if any owners of these guns could chime in and tell me how they like them and the pro's and con's of the gun, hows the trigger, sights, etc? Any input would be greatly appreciated since I do really want to buy one just would like to know how others think they are.
Eric
In terms of mechanism the 627 V-Comp is like any other 627. The trigger and action are typical of the performance center work. I prefer the somewhat lighter normal PC version.
I've been shooting my Vcomp for about 4 years in ICORE & steel challenge matches.
It's way better than I'll ever be.
The only 'con' is they are rather pricey. And you don't see many on the line. If it there IS another one....that sucker ALWAYS beats my time!!!
I love the gun. Started with the notion I was after the TRR8....and was pleased at the range to find them side by side....got to shoot both.
Bought the Vcomp as it held on target better.
And they really ain't for 'concealed carry'.
Nice to be able to use moon clips or not.
Nice to shoot 357 or 38.
I wouldn't sell mine for anywhere what I paid for it either.
I've only put about 10000 rounds thru it and it ain't showing any wear. Most of that has been cast 130 gr RNFP in the 'moderate' load range.
Had to put a new fiber rod front sight on it after knocking the first one off. And that sight was a replacement for the stock black sight, which I just couldn't see too well...and the rear fiber sight pretty much lights up enough for geezer eyes to see. Forgot the name of the sight though. Something from "top gun" probably.
