Default 638-3 stiff trigger pull

new 638-3 fired 25 rounds, I've cleaned and oiled with hoppes # 9 solvent and oil, trigger seems smoother, lighter, with dry fire, I'll check it out at the range this week, any comments appreciated.

I have one of the same model. Great gun and the added barrel certainly helps balance it.
The crisp trigger pull is natural, but won't really get any lighter.
Pocket sized guns usually have stiff double actions for carry safety.
If you would like it lightened there are a lot of competent gunsmiths.
And welcome to the forum.

Dry fire 1000 times, take the sideplate off, clean and lube and you'll see a big difference. If still not satisfied, try the Apex spring kit.

I just picked up a new 638-3 this am and man what a difference between the triggers of my 637-2 vs my new 638. Night and day IMO. Even the guy at the GS said it looks like it was a good day at S&W that day. : )

Seriously, it's as close as it can be to my LCR; in fact, I actually think it's a tad bit better than my LCR.. Happy camper here.
