There I was innocently reading posts on a local gun site, I looked at a classified ad that didn't even mention S&W but one of the guns he is selling is a 6" 586. OK, I don't need a 6" 586 but I do have a 6" 17-6 that could use a big brother. Uh oh bad thought. Asking price $450 uh oh reasonable price. I look at the pictures (see below) and the gun looks in great shape uh oh. I email seller and ask if he will take $400 he counters at $425 with a half box of CCI blazer .357 ammo and the paperwork for the gun but no box. I give in to the inevitable and say yes. I met him today and am greeted with a 586 no dash that has a faint turn line and not another mark on it. Is that the mythical 98% gun. It may have only fired the other half box of the CCI ammo.

dont you hate when the deal is so good you cant turn it down? heck, i have SEVERAL guns i wouldnt own if the price was just a tad higher ....

Nice 586! Around here (Home of S&W) they rarely go under $500

I feel your pain. My father-in-law in another state is shopping and has been e-mailing me for advice. I was checking out Armslist for his area and found this for $475. No way I could fit it into the budget before next year though.
