Thanks Ashlander. The 60-14 sort of matches my 640-1 (pre-lock). I opened the 60-14 up and I am amazed of the changes they have made. Those MIM parts are not all that bad. Lockup is tight on both guns and I don't see any real problems in those parts.
Now to get better wood grips for both and do my action jobs on 'em.
I take them apart, hone the slide's bottom, polish the slides spring hole with a cratex on the inside, polish the bolt stop's friction surface, use Microlon lube, and maybe a Wolf reduced rebound slide spring (just by 1lb.) Then end up with locktiteing all the screws back in.
I do that on all my Smith wheelguns.
