Default Any experience with the 22-4????

hello All-

I have been intrigued by the 22-4 for a while now, and have finally gotten the money together to purchase one. Has anyone have one? What are your opinions? Likes? Dislikes?

Thanks

Pete

I've owned one for over a year, now. It's a fun gun to shoot, and I have carried it while hiking. A no-nonsense gun.

Great cops gun, even today. Very accurate, tough and delivers a great round. If needed a fast reload. Here's a Pic of my TR22.

Great gun. Get one if you can. I don't think S&W is currently making them.

Zero problems, thousands of rounds, with moonclips and without. Accurate and smooth.

I've had one for about five years and really like it. My only complaint? The rounded front sight glares in some conditions so it can be hard to get a good sight picture.

Wink I have two...

that I acquired back in 2006. They both had their front sights changed by S&W so they would shoot POA with factory hardball. I used mine for a revolver PD course at Thunder Ranch and they performed well. Fixed sights do enhance reliability.

My only problem with the 22-4 is the front sight is too wide for precise shooting beyond about 20 yds. This tends to be a problem in IPSC matches.

For serious shooting, I recommend Hogue or Pachmayr grips. The wood magnas are pretty.
