Question on Birdsong finish
Today, I purchased a .44 Hunter Plus on Gunbroker, with a Birdsong finish. Does anyone know how durable this finish is and anything special about cleaning it?

Can't address how it is on revos but I had two 1911s, Baer & Colt, that were finished in the Black T & it held up very well under various conditions such as powdery sand, snow, rain, sea water.
Both were "daily carry" pieces & were used in multiple classes as well. I used my standard Hoppe's No. 9 to clean & a light coating of Break Free on the rails, barrel, hood & end of barrel.
Even the "high points", i.e. end of slide & frame, showed no finish wear after many years or riding in leather holsters (Sparks VM II mostly).
Don't know if this helps but perhaps owners of the other Birdsong finish Smiths can help out.

I had a Kimber 1911 finished in Birdsongs' Black T. Very durable and great lubrication properties. I used standard cleaners.

Thanks for your information. i was looking for a stainless, but found this one and liked it for the barrel profile and length.
