Question model 10 cylinder defect

I bought a model 10-8 4 inch heavy barrel off of gunbroker and have been shooting 148gr HBWC with 2.7gr BE when cleaning up I notice there is what looks like a irregularty in 4 of 6 chambers that is lined up with the lockup notch, my Question do you think +p loads could caused this, and woudl there be any danger in shooting target loads?
I only shoot light loads but got to thinking that some one has shot hot loads in this gun.
Do you think I need to send to smith and get new cylinder?
I may of got burned again!

not sure what irregularity you are referring to. you should be able to observe by looking down the bore, checking the alignment of the cylinder bores to the barrel. if they all do not line up then there is a problem that S&W should look at.

when I look in the cylinder from the end where load, I can see what look like a small dimpel that is in line with and right over the lockup notch that is on outside of cylinder where the thinest part of cylinder wall is, hope this explanes it better!

Is the chamber dimples bulged in..or bulged out?

If the dimples are bulged in towards the chamber..then maybe the machining operation to mill out the locking bolt notches pushed the metal into the chambers a bit.

If bulged out into the locking notches..bad kharma...either way I would send it back to S&W for a looking over/repair...
