That is an excellent set up for hunting. Mainly because I see many CCI/Speer Shotshells. I have found them most useful, I NEVER go into the field with out them. And you can never go wrong with a Ruger SA [even though I am a S&W DA revolver lover], and then there is the Randall knife. I know of no better knives, in handling or in the cutting, or ease of sharpening.

Is that the Bear Bowie???

Also, after seeing the great guns and photos you guys have posted here I am almost "ashamed" to own a revolver with flutes...

In my defense I do have at least one revolver without flutes...

Poor photo, but here are my 657-2, 627-0, and 686-3 flute-less revolvers.

Cool thread!! Well worth the bump.

610-2...

627 PC..originally a 6" Hunter, but at some point the weighted barrel had been swapped for the 5" "slab side".

PC 686-4 Light Hunter...

Since this thread has been brought back to life, I thought I should mention that I did in fact find a National Match. Here it is as I bought it with its checkered targets and then cleaned up and fitted with some imported but more comfortable stocks.

I love the 5" barrel length as it affords a perfect balance. The gun is super accurate and when they claim those guns had hand-fitted actions, they weren't kidding. It has easily the best factory trigger I've ever experienced and that includes three Colt Pythons.

I just got this one. A 686PC. I've never been accurate with a short sight radius, but this pistol is amazing. It has the most comfortable grip I've ever felt on a revolver.

Not a big fan of Goodyear boots (see post #66), so I put some Hogue Pau Ferro grips instead, what do you think?

Default Model 60 38 special bought around 1987

This has been in the box since I bought it in 1987. It came with the grips on it as well as wood grips. It is Stainless steel and the product code on the box says 102316.

Yep I agree. Looks like they forgot 3/4 of the barrel on that 460.

How does it feel shooting it, like an RPG?

Great looking stocks on that 686 jjbrewst1. The only revolver I had with the unfluted cylinder was a Ruger Single Six with .22 mag cylinder. I liked it and the .22 mag. I couldn't really decide whether I liked the unfluted cylinder or not but definitely like six shots and fluted cylinders. These days a case can easily be made for unfluted cylinders and many of your pictures leave me seriously desirous!!!
