Default Stopped Making the M396 Night Guard?

Anybody know why S&W dropped the M396 .44 Spcl Night Guard?

They didn't sell well. Too pricey for a 44 special, which is a niche caliber to start with. Some wholesalers dicounted them deeply to move them out. I think the Night Guards are over priced to begin with and most buyers want an adjustable rear sight on that style revolver. My 2 cents worth. Bob!

Every body cries for a 5-shot .44spl, but nobody buys them, til they're discontinued. Then they bring highly inflated prices, because they are so scarce.
