Might be my 1st J Frame
Yup, got the itch.
It`s been in LGS showcase for 2 years. I liked it then and I like it now.
Model 60-3 3" bbl LS in .38 Spl. Fixed sight, nice 3 finger rosewood grips.
$435.00. 98%, box and docs.
As soon as tax return comes in I just might buy it.

My vote is to go for it! I love my Model 60 Pro Series with the 3" barrel. I carry it from time to time when I use a belt holster. They are great shooters also!

Yes. Seems many in my neighborhood are more interested in poly auto`s
and this revolver , being a Lady Smith, has not received much interest.
This helped me because my friend, the shop owner, knocked the price down from $450.00.

Ask your "friend" to come down to $400 and then put something down on it before he changes his mind.

I was thinking $425 but for that M60 Im not going to worry.
I dont mind supporting his business and he has been a friend.
Hope the tax $ shows up tomorrow.

That really is surprising it has been sitting for 2 years. Decent price for a really good gun. Yeah I bet if you held $400 in your hand and said out the door I will take it right now he would probably take it. Maybe not but worth a try since he has had it for two years.

Jim,
Sounds like a good buy. I must admit, I've been considering a new Model 60 with the 3-inch barrel. And, I understand since you are buying this from a friend, you not wanting to low-ball him. Buy it at a price you're both happy with, strengthens your friendship, then enjoy shooting and owning a fine revolver.
God bless,
Birdgun

Tax refund? What's that? Now, estimated taxes... I could tell you about those.
Kidding aside (not!), if that gun has been there TWO years, that means it's waiting on you. I've bought J-frames just to prevent someone else from obtaining them. Really, it's a great reason to buy a gun. Then again, EVERY reason is a great reason to buy gun.

My son has a M60 in .357 mag with the 3" barrel and it really shoots well. The hottest loads I have shot in it are 6.0gr. Unique with 158gr SWC's. It is surprisingly accurate. For some reason I can shoot it better than my M19 with 2 1/2" barrel.

That price for a Model 60 is a steel ... er ... steal! The PX near here has the 2-inch version (.357, I think) for $629 - and it's been there since early last year. I really like the grips but the price is too high for me - considering that I just paid $375 for a NIB 637 ...

In my neck of the woods that is a great deal . I have never seen a M60 3' with fixed sites around here. I'd put down some cash down on it and get it when your refund comes in. With my luck somebody would snag it the day before I had the money in hand.

Late post! You got it? Good on ya!
A 3".38 Ladysmith? JUMP ON IT! Bet it will handle +P, too! What's in a name??? Just remember, Oscar, the hero of Robert Heinlein's GLORY ROAD had a sword he called LADY VIVAMUS! How to introduce her? BAD man, here is my date, Lady Smith?

Shot her today. 33 ft with Armscor 158gr FMJ. A little high and loose but minute of plate for sure.
With my 158gr handloads, all in black 2" round,at POA, nice and tight.
Now she`s all cleaned up and in my pocket!
I like this revolver. Now my .38 Spl 1943 Victory can get a breather.
Thanks for the encouragement everyone.
God Bless
