Default Smith Airlite 38 special Super rare TI 3 Inch

Man I just can't stay away from all the cool S&W. But this one caught my eye and don't know if it is correct. Check out the pics and let me know if this was altered or if it is a rare piece. Can't find any info on a 3" Airlite. Seller wants $875.00 the way it is . Claims it has 20 rounds through it. But who knows..... What you see is what is offered. Thanks again to all.

I own one of these 337-3" I too have never seen one before I spotted it at local gunshop. S&W archive said mine was made June 2002. As far as value, mine had a super slick action job & I picked it up for $400 in very good condition. I love this little J, it's super accurate & a great carry gun. There must be a few out there, as Galco offers a holster.

It's a nice gun, uncommon but not rare (made 1999-2004), and $875 is far too high unless you want it really badly.

It looks to me like an SC-360. A local shop has one for $695 (used).

Edit: I see from your post that it's .38 Spec. only. The SC360 is .357. Anything over $700 is too much in my opinion.

I'd guess market price to be about $550 NIB like this...but who knows what someone might pay....

I remember those - always thought it was nutty to make the Sc frame with the 3" version, since that would preclude the pocket-carry that's the only real justification for the additional $$$ for the frou-frou frame. (No one notices an all-steel J-frame IWB - my 3" is all-steel.)

I concur with my esteemed board-mates: the price is far too warm for the condition.

Default 3" 337 is a Kit gun

I own a 337 AirLite Ti with 3 inch bbl and the "FS HIVIZ RED" sight, product code 103054 (as per S&W box). It is a factory deal. Called A Kit Gun as in "camping kit" I suppose, NOT as in "i made et mYself".

Love my several AirLite Ti, although this is the definitely the most accurate, pegged a rodent at 80 feet with it. Stacked up next to the regular J frame bbl of 1 7/8" I wouldn't at all object to carrying the extra 1.125" of barrel carried in exchange for an extra 40 plus feet of easy accuracy. Uncle Mikes Sidekick #2 holster makes a good no nonsense fit for it.

Coincidentally, I wanted to dispense with this in order to acquire a different piece. Bought NIB and this one has yet to fire its first full box of 50, never carried regularly, always well stored. All original packing, lock and paperwork. I bought it to keep in a car lock box but never implemented that plan. That $875 is very high compared to my expectations. Let me know if you want to get your FFL acquainted with my FFL in the matter.
