It's a Model 15. The10D is merely a factory assembly number,it means nothing.
The -2 number means that the gun has the second engineering revision rendered to the Model 15.

We can tell you a general range by the model and dash number.
The serial number will pinpoint it.

Need the serial number on the bottom of the grip. The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson is the bible of smiths and a greate source of info! Like DOB's.
Highly recommend. Up to 3rd edition.

Smucker,

Using the SN, we will not be able to give you a date of manufacter, the closest we can achieve will be a shipping date (range), which is sufficient for most folks.
