You might look at Uncle Mike's #4 or Desantis Nemesis. I have both for my 642, which has a slightly shorter barrel at just under 2". I'm sure many more will chime in too.

I have two different ones that I use for my S&W 442. Elite Survival Systems and Bell Charter Oak (Vendor here) that I had made without a lining that makes it very minimal. TJ

I have to go with the Desantis Nemesis, I have one for my 642 and my LCP and theyre great. Durable and they stay in your pocket. They do make one for the 640 2 1/8in and yes it is different then the one for the 642 but it is still in the N3 line.

The 640 is significantly heavier than the 642.
I carry mine in a Mika pocket holster and find it rides great all day with little trouble.

I have a Safariland #25-01 S & W and I believe it was rated from 1-7/8" to 2-1/8". You will have to check their website to be sure. It is a well-formed holster suede out, smooth in. It feels like it is formed over some plastic as it does not lose its shape. Cheap enough and available off-the-shelf from most retailers.

I like Wild Bill's pocket holster. However, it is made out of 6 or 7 ounce leather, the same used for most OWB and IWB holsters. The point being that when you add the two sides together (the holster wraps around the revolver) you are adding about 1/4" in thickness to the revolver.
I don't have any problems carrying in bluejeans which is usually the only thing I wear when I can carry.
A 640-1 weighs in at about 23 ounces. I think that carrying in pants made of a lighter fabric would be difficult, but I've never tried it so I can't be sure.
I hate to always to back to this, but even when pocket carrying, I think a good gun belt is essential. A typical department store belt will allow you pants to sag with anything but the lightest mouse guns.

Another Mika Pocket Holster user here.
Two J-Frame holsters shown below, one round & the other square cut.
These holsters were new when the photo's were taken so they hadn't been broken in yet.
The more you use them, the better they feel.
Bob (Mika) makes the holsters specifically for the model, barrel length & type of sights they will be used with and since I have so many Mika Holsters I can't say for sure that the holsters shown were made for the specific guns shown with them. The only reason I mention this is that you may see some variation in how the two guns line up with the depth of these holsters.

I have my M&P340 in a Desantis Nemesis and it worked good for a little while. The grippyness is almost all gone. My next pocket holster will be a Remora. Supposedly they stick so well you can use a clipless holster for IWB. Just the pressure of it in between you and your pants is enough to keep it from moving. Which means their pocket holsters should be awesome.
