Default SW 500 6.5" 1st Shots! WOW

I shot my new SW 500 for 1st time. see pics
(My 1st time uploading pics too so hope this works)
It was awesome! grouped very well at 25'. The recoil wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. I had a blast.. yuk yuk
Also took the (baby) SW 45 MP along for company. Those groups are in the lower diamonds.

Seems I missed you're thread.
CONGRATS on you're new .500 !
They do produce good groupings.
What grain's did you shoot ?
My 6 1/2" 500 has to be one of my favorites as well.
When i'm not shooting it, I seem to be rubbing on it with a cotton T-shirt ----------

This grouping was shot with the 350 grain JHP low recoil by Winchester. It was the only ammo I could get my hands on the day I went to shoot. I have ordered some 500gr that should be here soon.

The 350gr is a good one.
You did great groupings.
You're really gonna love the 500gr !
You also need to try Magtech's 325gr and 400gr. Magtech seems to have hotter factory loads then other manufactors. I've notice that with their 240gr .44 Magnum and 260gr .454 Casull loads as well.
Post what you think about the 500gr after you've tryed it.

What kind of lock issues?
Was it Internal Lock related or something else?
Did you get your gun back?

I got it back.....it took 11 days (pretty good) It was an issue with the locking tab spring........changed it out and the tab and now it fires like it should. It was either over rotating or backing up so you gpt a fired round before shooting all 5.

All is good now

Thanks! Around how many rounds before that issue surfaced?
I'm curious because I own a 4" version.

The .500s are amazingly accurate guns, but with full power ammo they sure ain’t easy to shoot well.
