Default Finally put a 686 back in my collection.

I traded off my old 686 and kind of m issed it. Been looking for one for a while now and recently this no dash pre lock showed up for a good price so I bought it. It has the smoothest trigger of any revolver I have ever shot. I think this one will be staying around.

Beautiful 686! Congrats!

I was never a real fan of the L-frames until very recently. Then in the past year I came upon several nice examples, all pre lock of course.

I have added three L-frames in the last four months. All 686's. This keeps up I will have to change my signature....er.....on the boards where I have a signature that is.

Enjoy that fine 686! Regards 18DAI

Nice looking pistol. My buddy has the same one and its a great shooter, extremely accurate and not too heavy. Fun shooting .357 mag loads through it. .38 spl loads barely have any recoil.

I'm getting the 4" model in a couple of months, can't wait.

Enjoy,

Looks nice and clean, I like the 6" with partridge sights, should be a tack driver.

Very nice pick up you have there, have you taken it to the range yet?

Thank you all. I have not gotten it to the range yet. I am sure it shoots as good or better than my last one so it might be summer before I get around to shooting it. I have a few others that need to get shot more than this one.

Is it safe to dry fire it since it has a hammer mounted firing pin?? I like to dry fire a bunch of my revolvers but don't want to mess it up if that can cause an issue. I compared it side by side to my Ruger GP100 and the trigger is SO much smoother!

CONGRATS on finding you're replacement 686 !
Looks great ---------------
I wouldn't ever think of getting rid of my 6" 686, love it.
As far as any dry fireing of any gun, I wouldn't without using the special dry fire cartridges.

Very nice looking 686. Some find the 6" barrel heft a concern and possibly the cause of low hits, but my 6" 586 shoots spot on. It devours full load .357 rounds. Hope you enjoy your recent 686 like your last one.
