I met a guy at the LGS when I picking up a gun, he was picking up a 19-6 I believe, but it was exactly the same gun as the 19-7.
OMG!!
He let me dry fire it and I have to say it was beyond excellent, just like butter.
I vowed to own one someday.
Recently I worked a deal with someone for a 3" 65-5 which is more or less the same deal, but in stainless, fixed sights and without a compensator. So my quest is done.
Good luck on this roscoe!

Just proves several stupid people with more money than brains, now I am even more pissed off that I did not bid higher than 480.00 for a loose mint one about 6 weeks back on gun broker They will find out when they try to sell it that they will not get more than 600-700 for it.

Like I said here was the other mint one I lost out on , I was the only bidder at 470.00 and then got outbid last minute when I was out and figured oh well , I would rather spent another 200 and have one Brand New in box with all paperwork.-- Excellent S&W Model 19-7 357 Magnum with Extras 3" : Revolvers at GunBroker.com
Another member here 30 days before the above one sold end up getting a New in box one with all paperwork and original case for 718.00 and he thought he over paid for it.

What can I say? I paid in the nose for my lew horton 66-3 one of 300 years ago because it struck me as the best out there at the time. I doubt I would pay $1,300 today for one but I also would have to think about it were I offered the same. Its exactly the same gun as that one but stainless.

Yours is not exactly the same gun, there is a ton more demand for the 66 , yours is a lew horton 1 of 300 made, there were a hell of a lot more 19-7 comps made.

I love my 19-7 K-Comp: it has the nicest trigger of all of my Smiths. However, for $1300 I would probably part with it.
Well done, truelyapostolic. What is this sale going to fund?

If that was a 19-6, that was one of the original prototypes for the 19-7

Good information.
I was sold on the spot!
Like I said earlier, I found a 65-5 that's functionally identical with fixed sights & stainless, so my search is complete and I won't feel poorly that I don't have a 19-6/7.
That 19-6 was one of those revolvers that grabs you by the lapels and shakes hard.

I would not say that he got more than it was worth, I bid over 900 for it because that is what it was worth to me...
What do I know, I am just some thirty something city dwelling wheel gunner with a taste for nice PC guns.

Yikes!!! thats alot for this gun, I sold one a few years ago to a fellow collecting PC guns, these were done in a couple of runs I beleive some were for Lew Horton and they also did a stocking dealer run which has the SDA serial #, the one I sold had 019 in the serial#. But all you need is 2 guys wanting the same gun for auctions to go wild.

Probably going to have a Beretta built by Mountain Competition or David Sams. I need a hardball gun for the CMP service pistol matches.

I agree, congrats to the seller, We deal with this all the time in CA, someone local has a model gun that cant be got here and the price is twice as much. On top of that you have guys making 200 k a year with no kids and if they want something they buy it.Thats just the way it is. I quit offering my guns to the guys at work for that reason.
Hey if the market price is 800-900 for a model 17, instead of the 300 I paid, Im gonna offer it for 700-750 and it sells in 20 minutes on a local forum.Cant wait to leave so I can afford to buy some new guns.
I told my wife if something happens to me sell everything she doesnt want (luckily she like guns also) before she leaves CA, FTF, cause she will get thousands more.
The other side is a few special ones are going to homes that are already decided but the plain shooters are highest bidder. Of course I hate to think that it will all be spent on ANOTHER horse anyway , but she deserves it for putting up with me all these years. MY .02 Bob
I know that I would bid up there to a degree, for a Lew H 19-5 K , the one that is magnaported instead of comped. So we all have our weak spot !!!!!!

Well Truly , I did not know that you are a forum member.
I was the guy that bid it up to $1200. and let the other guy have it.
Now that all is said and done I am relieved not to have paid that much for it.
As I said, I have had good luck locally finding these once and a while.
It is just a waiting game.
Good luck

Just got my K-Comp back from my wife
Poor dear's eyesight no longer good enough for iron sights. I gave the K-Comp to her years ago along with a Novak Custom Hi Power. Go figure she wants to keep the Hi Power. I've got to remember to keep her in front of me during any sort of engagement. Very happy to have it back along with a whole bunch of commercial 38 ammo. It goes so well with my L-Comp...both wear Spegel checkered extended boot grips in Brazilian Rosewood, and is a lot easier to conceal under light clothing.
