Default 396 Night Guard

I recently bought a 396 night guard in 44 special. I had intended this gun to be my woods carry gun. When i took the gun to the range for a test session the gun shoots all 240 grain loads low. I am assuming that the sites are regulated to shoot 200 grain bullets. I really would like to be able to carry 240 grain loads in the gun but i also want it to shoot to point of aim. Any suggestion of anything i can do to adjust the gun?

Thanks in advance for your help!

My M325 NG (.45acp/230gr) shot 5" low @7yds too with the sight pattern I use. I made a spacer from an old adjustable S&W sight base that I put under the C&S fixed combat sight w/ longer screws. Was about 1/8th inch thick. It brought POI/POA up to 1" high now. Later, I might trim it another .025" to make it just right. You could use stacks of tiny washers and OEM screws as a test till you dial in the heigth you need. Slim.

Are you covering where you want to the Point of Impact to be with the front sight?

The Big Dot night sight is meant to be used with a "cover hold". I didn't know this when I got mine, and I shot mine low at first as well.
