Default DOB on Model 57 please

I have just picked up a a Smith Model 57 and have a couple of questions. It is blue, 6" bbl, Red ramp front, white outline rear, TH,TT, non-standard grips, no box or papers. Serial # AUN2927.

Condition is very good bordering on excellent.

Can anyone tell me the birth date on this N frame?

I don't have it in hand yet so no photos but anyone got any ideas what a fair price would be?

Thanks,

MDaly

The 3-letter/4-number sequence began in the early 1980's. I did not see any reference to the AUN prefix in the SCS&W. Value may be in the area of $500.

Question on SW 57-1 6" mine has serial number AVD67** and has some markings under the barrel which I have never seen. I will try and post a picture. If anyone can help me decipher these markings, I would appreciate it very much

I found out that these are proof markings from Belgium; the pistol was once shipped from S&W USA to Belgium; probably to the Rod and Gun Club (Military) and brought back into the US by the military member.
