Default New 586 Classic Feedback ...

Hey, all - looking for feedback from anyone who may have purchased a new 586 classic model ... or, anyone who has insight into this "new" revolver (good shooter, well made, differences between the older models, etc). I've googled ... but, not much out there other than the initial press release and commentary from folks who have not actually held or fired such firearm. As always, appreciate any feedback from the awesome folks on the S & W forum ....

O.K. here we go! I have a 586 4" no dash, 6/83. Have had it a month or slightly more. I really like that gun.
The point that I am leading up to, is if you can obtain the real thing, why get a copy? What are you gaining by buying a new one? It is going to cost you more than an original, and will the same quality be there?
I have nothing against Classics, but opt for the real thing. To each his own. It is a shame you can't do a side by side between them. Good luck with your venture! Bob

Bnanaman nailed it. I'm not a lock hater but in the case of the 586, there are just WAY too many nice originals for short money to consider a new Classic.
