632 327 mag speculation?
I want one of these so bad! actually both the pro and the powerport! but money is very tight now. do you think S&W will keep these around a while, or should I struggle to find a way to get one now?

I've had my 632 Pro for about a year. I've shot three different loads through it. 32 S&W Long, 32 H&R Mag. and 327 Federal. I'm planning on adding the dies to reload on my Dillon 550 so I can shoot it even more. I hope they continue making them. I plan on getting the one with night sights and concealed hammer.

To not confuse the point...
The first .327 Federal Magnum offering from S&W was the black 3" comped 632 Power Port, SKU #170329, listed under the 'Pro' section in S&W's catalogs. It was followed by a limited edition in bright SS, available from one wholesaler. The actual 632 Pro, SKU #178046, is a SS 2 1/8" non-comped hammerless with tritium Night Sights - which, although long advertised, was not delivered to dealers until last September. My early one had a quick grip change to a set of '60 Pro' grips:
As to speculation... some observations. Charter Arms and Taurus have already dropped their .327 offerings. Although locally unavailable, Ruger and S&W still list their offerings. Starline doesn't make the brass. Federal and Speer ammo is always 'on back order'. It's easier to find Serbian-made ammo for my 1895 Nagant revolvers.
I guess I'd suggest, if you want one - get it now. Sure, they may be 'on closeout' next year - and a lot cheaper (I paid $700 inc s/t for that thing!) - but the ammo will be really hard to find by then. Fully adjustable sights will help get it on target with milder .32's - that 632 Pro is fixed-sighted for hot ammo. Speaking of 'hot' ammo - like the 115gr Gold Dots or AE 100gr JSP - both in .327 Federal Magnum - they kick! Sure - most of the KE of a ,357 Magnum - and most of the recoil, too - don't let anyone kid you on the recoil. My 632 Pro is really mild with 96gr LRNFP .32 S&WLs - but they hit 2+ inches low at 12 yd. Still, it's a fun shooter... SA is difficult...

I have a 632 3" and it has become my favorite J frame, the 327 Magnum is a good and versatile chambering. The one I bought was a closeout from an Indiana dealer who was selling them for $479. I along with several friends jumped on the deal and bought his remaining 4 revolvers. I also saw several on Gun Broker at closeout prices so I suggest that if you find one grab it. These are expensive and beautifully made revolvers.
I'm still waiting for my 60 Pro grips that I ordered after seeing Stainz's to show up from S&W, but the factory rubber ones are comfortable. If you do find and buy one of these you won't regret it.

My wife was a bit intimidated by the recoil of her Chief's special but she loves the J frame grip size so I bought her a 632 power port last year and it immediately became my favorite revolver (the rest are .38's, 357's and .22's). We've only fired .32 long and .32 mag. handloads in it--adequate for my purposes. My lightest loads are quieter than a .22 lr, and the hottest generate more energy than my .38 carry load but without the recoil....very versatile. I haven't felt a need for .327 mag loadings but it's nice knowing the option is there. It's a damned shame that the .327 wasn't marketed well--where is the Marlin lever action in that chambering? The ultra-thin, ultralight 5 shot titanium cylinder J-frame? The 7 or 8 shot K frame? The 10 shot N frame? A lot of unrealized potential. I'd grab a 632 soon as you can--I like the adjustable sight version. You won't regret it.

The ruger Blawkhawk is so dang heavy, almost 3 lbs. Ruger should of made it in the single six.

Perusing Gun Broker there are at least 10 or so 632s available, that's where I found mine. They're still listed on S&Ws website so hopefully they are selling well as this is one of the neatest revolvers they've come out with recently.
