Default Final Range report 43 C

Range time today-43 C has no extraction issues whatsoever. Final install of Wolf springs is 9 lbs hammer spring-12 lbs rebound spring. It would not do the 8 or 8.5 lbs hammer spring. No miss fires with 40 gr CCI Mini Mags- a sometimes miss fire with Federal and Remington bulk pack which is fine as this is CHEAP practice ammo and the CCI for real use. I removed the trigger and smoothed the outer surface and removed the hump from the very top of the trigger as it pinches my big finger (size 12 hand). Maybe 1 k ammo down range and no issues.Good practice gun for J-Frame double action shooting.Fun gun to shoot and low ammo costs. Glad I bought it.

Looks like you have a keeper.
I went with the LCR 22, and also really like it so far.

If you are using your 43C for a practice concealed carry gun, you might wish to pick up some Tuff Products Model 1022 Quick Strips. Skip a shell between pairs for cylinder clearance, and it should hold 7 rounds. Not perfect, but as good as it gets until enough of us request a dedicated 8 round Quick Strip with a space between pairs, or an 11 round model that we can just skip a shell and still get 8 in the strip.

These J Frame size 22's are going to be very popular practice/training handguns.

Funny I was just looking at Tuff Quick strips on-line.With the price/availability of ammo and reloading components .22 is still KING

I was not aware that Ruger came out with a LCR .22. They look great as a trainer for the .38 special Rugers.Whats not to like. But I,m a S&W man so each to his own.

I like both. I have a LCR 22 which is excellent. As are all the other Rugers I own. I have a pre lock 317 snub which is also excellent. I really like the 43c though as it is DAO. I was a little worried as I heard of a few problems with another board member or two. Glad to hear yours is good. I'll be keeping my eyes open for one.

Me three, this is another great revolver from Smith & Wesson. Everyone I've let shoot mine wants one, my dealer can't keep them in stock.

About a week ago I bought a new 43C too. It was my first new S&W revolver purchase in quite a few years. A local dealer remembered that I had asked about one. She had no idea what it is, but then managed to find one and then sprung it upon me at a gun show. I had a chance to examine it before buying it, and it looked good. Fit and finish were excellent, with a slightly uneven finish in the area of the cylinder flutes preventing it from being perfect. Timing was perfect, cylinder gap not too tight for a .22 and the trigger felt good for a rimfire.

At the range it shoots most everything to point of aim. Some loads shoot much better than others. The best loads are very impressive in terms of accuracy. I was concerned that the large white front dot would prohibit any kind of accurate shooting, but the rear notch is actually circular as well. Sometimes a bit of "Kentucky elevation" is needed to get it to hit at 25 and 50 yards with various ammo, but the better loads will keep all shots on a man at 50 yards. The only extraction problems I have are with anything made by PMC, but this stuff is a problem in every revolver in which I have tried it. Otherwise extraction is not an issue at all. There are no problems with cylinder binding like I experienced with an older Model 63.

This revolver is definitely a keeper and I plan to shoot it A LOT. This is my first lightweight revolver and I am very impressed. I tend to complain about S&W's new revolvers, but they sure got it right with this one.

Okay, ya'll have got me curious about this gun. Especially since I see that it does not have the IL. What is the model number, and is it offered in a .22 magnum?
