Default S&W 640 Questions

Hello Again, and thank you everyone for the help from my last post. A couple more simple questions about it. Is there any way I can polish it up a bit. No major scratches, just normal use. And the serial number begins with BRD. Any idea when it may have been made. Thanks!

BRD.... Jan/Feb 1994.

I'd go after the scratches with some 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper backed by a small rectangular piece of ridged foam (Dura Block) cut down to about the size of a pack of gum. Use WD-40 to clean the sand paper and lubricate/flood the work area.

The backer keeps the flats flat and the edges sharp. Once the scratch was gone, I'd use progressively finer grades of sandpaper to get back to a factory like brushed finish. Final step would be a light going over with Scotch Brite gray pad.

I polished my 640 Pro with Mothers Mag Polish and a cotton t-shirt, stopping just short of "mirror shine".
