At the lower price, a good deal. There are a bunch of 3" model 65s (LE trade-ins, I think) right now in the $360-400 range on the market, but don't look as nice as this one sounds.

I just paid $420 OTD price for a good condition 13-1 for what it's worth.
The pistol did see service as a police service revolver and does show a little holster wear at the end of the barrel. Other than that it's in pretty nice shape, Not a safe queen but a range shooter.
So if you get it in the $ 400. range I think you did well
Hope this helps.........LnL

If 3" and truly like new as you said, I'd do it for $425.

Seems high, but I'd pay it in a second if the seller held firm. I might even go higher if the gun really looked good. A lot of people want 3" K-frames -- me among them. The market for them is separate and apart from the 4" guns -- we should expect a good size premium -- especially for a 3" 13 -- the last revolver model used by the FBI.

Ashlander is spot on.
If you want one you better buy it , even at $500.
I'm down to (2) K-frame .357's. One is a 13-3 3" and the other is a first-year production Combat Magnum.

+1
But as mentioned, 3" models are in a separate price range.
I guess depends on how deep your pockets are and how much you want it.
I'd hold off and let the seller consider your lessor offer but the old saying you snooze you lose has happened to me more than once.
Trying to buy S&W wheelies is hell sometimes, aint it?
To me, finding nice guns to buy is only part of it... getting them at a good price (if I can afford it) is the other part.

Tell you what, here in California that'd be a steal!

If I found a 3" 13 for that I would not hesitate, but we can't buy like you guys can, we can only buy what was in the state before the roster of safe guns, so our supplies are limited.

Ask yourself this...

In 5 ~ 10 years, are you going to be happier that you saved $50 or that you have a 3" 13 in your safe?
