Two 66-2’s . . .
Mentioned in my Lew Horton thread that my LGS has experienced a recent extraordinary run of estate guns. He starts texting me pics early when he’s got something he knows I’ll want to look at. Here’s a 6” and a 2 1/2” 66-2, both barely fired, if at all, that found their way to my safe during the coronapocalypse . . .

I love the 66 in 2.5 inch. I sold one and bought a glock 21. I've shot the glock twice in five years...

It is good to have an in at a LGS. I have a 2 1/2 inch 66-2 that was a Louisiana State Police issue. Both of yours are very nice.

Those are beautiful revolvers. One of the things that amazes me since joining this forum and seeing a number of gun pictures, is why stainless steel revolvers many times look to me like they are richly and beautifully blued. The 66 above is an example of that.
Maybe it’s just my eyes or the play of light. The rough stainless steel ones with a bunch of scratches seem to always show as stainless, but the pristine examples like these always seem richly blued.

Congratulations! They both look very good! I have a soft spot for the 2.5"
Picked 1 up at the gun show a few years back. Sure is a fun gun to shoot! Bob

Beautiful pair of 66'rs! I've got a 2.5" one myself. One of these days I would like to have a 4" or maybe even a 3"!

Love my 66-2 snubbie. Wouldn't take nothing for it. I can't figure how to post full size pictures here.

Hey Muss-My 6 inch 66-2 is one of my best shooters. As a bonus, the serial ends in 00256, my badge number. The 2.5 inch 66-2 gets some carry time. I know you’ll enjoy yours.

The 2.5-inch and 3-inch are dash 2's. Gotta get a 6-inch.

Very nice! I particularly like the 6 inch. Where I am, they are more scarce than the 2.5's.
One up side to the China Flu lock down and not wanting to shoot up my ammo stash is that I have cleaned and inspected every gun in my collection. Some of them a couple of times!

I LOVE the 2.5” 66 also. Actually it’s in a simply rugged pancake holder as I type this right now.
Mine is a 66-1 that I bought from my lgs about a year ago or so. It wasn’t fired much if at all. The original owner sent it back to s&w to have a factory installed fiber optic front sight and had the action tuned. Beautiful gun.
Enjoy your additions to your family!
