New Model 640 Frame Crack?

I've been reading all the bad news on alloy J frames, wonder if anyone has had a new model 60, 640, etc. crack. I know the steel frame has to be stronger, but the 357 has 2, 2 1/2 times the energy of a 38. checked my old pre plus p 442, no crack. Looking to buy a 640 soon.

On the thin part of the frame, at 6 o'clock where the barrel threads in.
