Default Help me decide, please, 22-4

I have an opportunity locally to buy a S&W 22-4. It's nickel, 4" barrel, .45ACP. I'm a huge fan of the model 625, but know nothing about this fixed-sight model. I've also never owned a nickel revolver before.

Is this particular model well-regarded? It has the IL but I just might have to overlook that (particularly since this is a used gun). Anything to watch out for when I check it out, other than the typical revolver checkout (are these particular models prone to any specific issues)?

What about nickel as a finish? Do I have to worry about what solvents I use to clean it? I typically use Shooter's Choice.

Last but not least, what's a fair price for these guns?

Thanks,
Lou

I have owned three of the 22-4s and I still have one. They are an excellent gun that handles to suit me better than a model 625-8 I owned. Their looks with the tapered barrel and good blue finish and excellent fitting and good trigger are all good features. I bought (3)from 500 to 550 used in excellent condition. They are getting harder to find now and the pricing has gone up some. I never owned a shooter with nickel finish but they are pretty.

I have a blue one. I did not know there was a nickel version until after it was home and fired several months--- or I would have a nickel one. I clean my nickel guns with breakfree or remoil. No hoppes on mine.

My gun shoots great and carrys nice.
