My question is, if carried in a pocket can the 649 be fired from inside the pocket or would the hammer nub hang up? I'd appreciate your comments. Thanks, Dr.J
I've had a 649-3 since 1998 and have pocket carried many times. However, I feel that firing it from a trouser pocket would be rather difficult. Not because the hammer will hang up, but because it pretty much fills up my pocket and there's not a lot of maneuver room. On the other hand IMO it is a perfect jacket pocket gun. Much more room to maneuver and point. It works especially well in the inside pocket of my Levis brand denim jacket.
