Default 21-4 with WILD case colors???

I saw a gun on here in the case-color thread. It was vividly colored and from what I can turn up, it's a 21-4 Classic, .44SPL with the IL.

Questions:

1. Is it real case coloring or the Rugeresque chemical treatment that comes off easily?

2. If I find one on the case color versions, what should I expect to pay?

If anyone is willing to throw up a photo...

Thank you.

Don't have a 24 but have a M10, if you're talking case colored. No IL

Are you sure about the dash number? I believe the "Heritage Series" .44 Specials, including the case colored frame guns, were 24-5's. Made in 2001. A 24-1 would have likely been made in 1960, way before the ones you are talking about.

I bought my Model 24-5 in July, 2002. Yes, I need to get a camera. Round butt, 4 screw frame, thin, tapered, round, non-ribbed 6-1/2 inch barrel with an ejector rod shroud and a tall Patridge front sight blade with a brass or gold bead. No internal lock. Small Performance Center seal stamped on the left side of the frame, just below the thumbpie e cylinder release. The 2 piece, cardboard box is sorta gold and blue and tries to look old, like the old 'picture' boxes, except the lid features oval photographs of Misters Smith an Wesson on either side of a large photograph of the factory in Springfield, Massachusetts. The case colored frames of these were indeed by Doug Turnbull. Mine was test fired by factory tech Keith Gendron on 8-13-2001.

Thank you, Buff. I have change the OP to read 21-4. I wondered why no one was responding.

I am talking about the brightly colored "Classic" model with the IL. Not sure that was Turnbull and not sure it's true case coloring. Been down the chemical color road with a couple Vaqueros - not doing that again.

Just looking for some photos and prices as I cannot find much in the way of net searching.

A.

The saw the Heritage Model 17 in these guns awhile back. It was gorgeous. The only thing I did not like was the round butt.

I also owned a model 21-4 with case colored frame but sold it here on the forum. It was a beautiful gun but I shoot all mine and I could not see using it for a shooter.
