I looking for either a 342 or 337 AirLite.

I'd rather a shooter than a safe queen, But I'm interested..

Thumbs up

That's a nice revolver in high condition.

Six, maybe fifty either way.

I bet you've got some PM's sent your way!

That's the lightest 38 S&W ever made. The no lock is at a premium. NIB is rare these days. I agree $600-$700. Dont sell it to a gun shop. It's an easy sell on Gunbroker

I paid $575 for mine NIB, and added the short hammer.

Do you find that the geometry of the short (bodyguard) hammer increases the effort to cock it over the regular hammer?? The reason I ask is that I have a 317 and a 317-1. The 317-1 has the regular hammer while the 317 has the body guard style. The 317-1 is MUCH easier to cock . I have a 337 that I have been considering getting the body guard hammer for until I can find a 38-3.

The only reason, I put the short hammer on was for snagging purposes. It is easier to cock with the long hammer, but I dont really plan on ever using single action.
Hey, its easier to cock than a model 38!
But I like to know that the option, of single action is there. (Thats why I didnt bob the long hammer).
I am still searching for that 38-3 also... I had one once and sold it like a dummy....

My 337pd w a bobbed hammer is my favorite J Frame. Just got back from the range and shot 100 round through it. I can feel it in the web of my hand.
