Default 629-3 Magna Classic value question

My friend, who owns the local gun shop, just got this gun in on consignment. What would a reasonable price be for the package? It has been turned, but the owner claims it is unfired. He is a police officer, and stand-up guy and I'm inclined to believe him.

The box has scratches on the outside, inside is pretty much perfect. Nice revolver other than the round-butt grip frame.

Thanks for the help.
Hastings

I paid $1000.00 for one, but I am not renowned for my financial acumen. I do know what I like, though.

I also think about $1K is a reasonable price, although it would still be a sound investment if you had to pay a little more. These are wonderful revolvers and it is all there. Collectors have yet to take much notice as they are post P&R era.

Thanks for the help. I appreciate the info. If I buy it I'll post more pics and a range report. It won't stay unfired if I'm the owner.

Thanks again.
