Hi, mate. I'm from Argentina as well.

As far as I know, the reason why S&W weapons can't be imported into our country right now is a ban impossed after a DoJ investigation of offenses against the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Several executives from different companies were indicted, including S&W's VP Amaro Goncalves (who was arrested in Las Vegas in January 2010).

If I'm not mistaken, the ban expires in a few months.

Here's a US Department of Justice press release about the indictments and arrests (in Spanish): Departamento de Justicia

Dear Franciscomv
Thank you for your quick answer,we, the Smith and Wesson enthusiasts and followers of the brand in Argentina whope the ban expires,as you say, in a few months, the sooner as possible,so we can have back this quality revolvers back again!!!!!.....
The question is who will be the authorised dealer representative (importer) in Argentina for this guns.
I am very interested in the Smith and Wesson new series called "Classic Models", in special the Model 17, Model 14, Model 27, Model 36 and Model 1917 in .45ACP caliber.
I am also looking for one of these Models in used condition but it must be nearly "mint condition" in gun shops at Argentina, if you have information on any of the Models, please let me know!!!!!....
We will keep in touch mate!!!..
Best Regards
Roberto

Was last in Buenos Aires in 1992. While there I found the local gun store selling Smith & Wessons. The store was better stocked than I expected but the prices were outrageous.

Quite true!!! in 1992 you could still find some good used handguns but now 2016 it is not easy and the prices are high!!
