My wife bought a new Model 67 right before Christmas. I don't like the hole but the gun's fit and finish is a lot better than I expected and it shoots like a dream. She has no complaints.

Who says there's no such thing as zombies? This thread is back from the dead isn't it?

It's not exactly new but neither is this thread so here goes. I love my M&P Sport 15. Doesn't jam and accurate as heck. What's not to like? It's my first AR but not my first EBR. And I've bought more guns since but they weren't S&W.

Thumbs up New 640 Pro and it's Great!!

Today was my third range trip with my SW 640 Pro and I gotta tell ya, I really like this fantastic gun. The first trip I had Moon clip issues, but got those resolved and now carry this little beast daily in a Galco Tuck and Go as mentioned by a member on this forum. I settled on Speer 38+p short barrel for SD and against my previous better judgement, installed a set of CTC LG405 lasers on it today. After initial zero, this gun, as a friend of mine says, is bulletproof. Great gun.

627-5 PC that I purchased a few months ago. Love this thing. Got some Ahrend grips on it now for a full grip.

Mot recent is a 1911SC "E" Series and while I haven't shot it yet I am extremely impressed with the fit and finish on the pistol, unbelievable detail for a gun that costs this much!

I purchased a Model 27-9 in March. I do not like the fact that it has an internal lock. I don't think I will ever use that. The top strap is gorgeous. I'm going to shoot this one until I find dash 2. Maybe then, I'll keep both.

That's awesome, I have one as well.. great little carry gun.. Lightest gun I ever carried. I wanted the PD model, I like having the external hammer and the grips. I missed the one my FFL had, so I settled on the C, no regrets here. But.... he does have a PD in the show case now, been eyeballing it for a while, once I pay off the 19 nickle I have on hold.. I just may buy that one too!

Oh ya ...... and I picked up a set of the same wooden grips as the PD model and installed a Big Dot front sight..

Just bought a couple 586 L-comps and a 627 pro series. Aside from the performance center guns having peened looking extractor ratchets, they perform very well and are incredibly accurate.

Default Bodyguard .380acp

I recently bought this new .380 Bodyguard to replace my trusty 5 year old Kel-Tec P-3AT that finally started to "act up". I love this thing. So far put 400 rounds through it; had some light strikes with Fiocchi 95 gr FMJ, but 350 rounds perfectly reliable with Winchester and Hornady 90 gr. JHP.

A love/hate relationship with my new 69...

It shoots great and has got me back into a cartridge I really have not shot in years because I don't like carrying the bigger guns around. It's as accurate as my larger .44's in my hands, and if I pick the right loads, seems to retain a good amount of the performance.

But... there are still things I would like to see different, the lock, the grips (it'll get a set of troopers when I get a little extra cash), the hammer that looks like it was kicked around the floor

Still, it is a real joy to shoot and will make many trips afield. I'm also having fun working up new short barrel handloads for it.

Ps. There were some rough edges on the recoil shield I stoned a bit which smoothed things out too.

In the last several weeks, I bought a M&P 340 and a 629 Deluxe 6.5" Tale Edition. I think both of them are incredible and am very happy with my purchases. With Crimson Trace LG-350 grips on the 340, I can comfortably shoot .357 rounds. On the 629, I use Model 500 grips when I go to the range and put the wood grips on when I want to admire it.

Default Well new to me....

I've got an old new mod 36 and an old new mod 38. I love both of them.

I bought an old new Sig. I don't love it like my S&Ws but it's a good gun.

Default 627 Pro Series

I recently purchased A 627 Pro Series and like it very much.
Good finish nice trigger , accurate and good balance . Most guns I would like to change things on , this one works for me . Got it for steel challenge and so far so good

Pretty much my feelings on the 69 I purchased.
Tried the Pachmeyer Diamond Pro grips and they were better but still not quite 'right'.
Bite the bullet and got a set of the X frame grips.
Happy with the way it shoots now.
Just wish they weren't so ugly.
Need to have a good looking set of wooden ones that feel the same.

Just bought a 627 PC. I almost didn't buy one after reading all the QC threads. I paid up at my local gun shop because I was too scared to buy one sight unseen. Anyway, picked it up today, timing, fit, finish, trigger are all great. Crown, forcing cone look good. Shot it, love it.

Default 6906NS and 4006

Traded for the 4006 and a 6906 with night sights. Qualified with them last week. The 4006 probably will replace my Beretta 96 for winter carry and the 6906 for summer carry. I was very impressed with both at 25 yards. The 6906 was able to touch holes with 115grn WWB. My 4516 was traded for the 4006, glad I did.IMG_0116.jpg

Two new editions to my stable of Smith & Wessons. A new in box 5946 from Cabellas. Of course I swapped slides with my 6946 to make a long slide 6946 and a short slide variant of the 5946:

Then I won at auction a model 547 9mm in great shape:

This spring, I decided to give my old 29-3 a rest, and picked up a new production 629. Fit, finish, and timing are excellent. After 300 or so rounds, I started getting light primer strikes. Bummer! When cleaning afterwards, I noticed the strain screw had backed out. Tightened the screw up, and she's running like a champ again!

I also picked up two M&Ps within the last year, a .45 shield and a .45 M2.0. Both have been flawless.

Initially shocked that it hit low with the wimpier ammo from 7-12 yd, I found that it was designed for a combat sight picture at those distances shooting real .327 Federal Magnum ammo - 115gr Speer Gold Dots, for example. It was on the money! Great trigger - unreal grouping at 7-12 yd. Super pleased - even if they forgot the IL!

How about you folks?

Yep! Just got me a New 642 pre-lock from the Post Exchange on the post I work at last Friday! I already had a apex j frame spring kit that I was going to put in my model 60, but that was sent in for warranty repair so I put it in the 642. Haven't shot it yet, because down here in lower Alabama it's been raining all week. So maybe this weekend I'll get to go to the range. I'll come back with a range report on Mon!

I bought an ANIB model 360J Scandium .38 special a few weeks ago. A friend bought it for his wife. She fired one shot, put it back in the box.
He kept if for a while then gave me a good deal on it.

Box and all papers. I admit, it is a little snappy but I like it.

Excellent fit and finish, it is also my first S&W with a lock. I have six pre-lock Smith revolvers plus a 439. This one seems to be just as good quality.

Just got the Model 69 2 7/8" 44mag. Great shooting right out of the box. Even the sights were right on. Usually I do a trigger job on my revolvers to get good double action. Not needed on the new one.

Just got a Model 69 snubby 44mag and love it. I don't recommend handloads using Win296 unless you like flaming mushroom clouds and loud concussive sounds ;-) I absolutely love it. Recently got an M&P 45c in FDE and that is a great shooter as well. Finally I have a 637 J-frame on layaway that I'm going to turn into a project gun.

I have a 686-6, 617-6, and a 29-10. The 686 is the tightest revolver I've ever owned, and the smoothest. It has the Hillary Hole, the MIM parts, and all, but it is smooth and a fine shooter. The 617 is almost as smooth but with a heavier pull. Still the best 22 revolver out there. The 29 was rough, but with a good trigger job it rivals my 657 no dash for smooth. I usually buy used, so I do a fair amount of fondling before I buy... The only nicer prelock gun I have is my k17. Even my 15-3 isn't as nice as my 686 or 617.

Picked up a Shield 9mm after renting one at a range and being amazed at how accurate it was while being comfortable to shoot. This after buying (at least 10) and carrying only revolvers for at least the last 5 years. With the current rebate, I got one without safety and with 3 magazines and night sights for about $325 in hand. Probably the least expensive handgun I've bought in decades.

After several chronograph days at the range checking various flavors of 9mm factory ammo (I had 9mm reloads but lost 'em all in a tragic boating accident . . . ) I realized that the standard pressure 9mm defensive loads equal or exceed the energy levels of the +P rounds I carry in my 38 Special and 32 Magnum J frames. In addition, the Shield is more comfortable to shoot and and I shoot it more accurately than the J frames, it is slightly thinner in its belt holster, starts with 8 or 9 rounds compared to 5 or 6, and has 8 more ready for a 2-second reload if needed, compared to a LOT longer to reload 5 or 6 from a speed strip.

In sum, I like the Shield so much that it's probably going to replace the J frames for daily carry. I never would have guessed, when I first picked one up at the range.

I'm the past year and a half I purchased a 686 PC snubby, a 640 Pro and a 686 Competitor.

Very satisfied customer here. No defects on any of them, and I looked these very carefully. The PC guns came with perfect, silky smooth triggers. The trigger in the 640 still needs a lot of breaking in, but it will get there.

Default Great gun

Recently added another J frame. This 642 is absolutely perfect. Quality, fit, finish, timing, trigger, accuracy. Everything I would expect from S&W. BTW this is the only S&W revolver I own newer than 1980

Bought a 686+ Pro in April as a self retirement gift. Great balance, great fit and finish. Excellent accuracy. LOVE IT!

Bit on the S&W rebate bait in May and purchased a Shield 45 PC. Great balance of size and performance. Love It! ( ..well as much as you can love a plastic framed gun anyway.:-)

Saw a smoking deal on a 686+ Talo 3" in June. Took advantage of a period of a strong stock market (and weak self control) and picked it up. Just as sweet as the Pro but in a snubbie sort of way. Love it !

Not sure if I posted this before but my first s&w N frame purchase is a m58 in 41 mag. I never owned a s&w firearm before. After six shots let the love begin. I'm a longer barrel guy 5" to 6 1/2" is my area. The m58/4" handled awesome.

Bought my fourth S&W 14, a 14-4, recently. The ones before it where an unused 14-1 from 1961, a boring 14-2 and an underlugged 14-7.
This one is quite unusual though because its my birth year and has the box and papers.

I love my Smiths. I recently got a Smith 500 and 460 XVR in the past 6 months.

No QC issues for me.

In the last month, I bought a new 642 Pro, a new/used 640 and yesterday a 69. All three outstanding in fit, finish and functioning. Have not fired the 69 yet, but should soon. That makes 13 S&Ws for me, new and old, all extremely satisfactory, and then some.

Need to have a good looking set of wooden ones that feel the same.
Try these 😉

My 929 9 mm 8 shot. It quickly became one of my favorite revolvers. I added Hogue Big Butt grips and cylinder release, a C-More Sight on an Allchin Mount and an Apex hammer to get the trigger down to 5 lbs double action.

Model 69 2.75". Looked great fresh out of the box, trigger very good at the first pull. Shot 15 magnum rounds and the gun cleaned up routinely, actually there was very little residue for wax lubed bullets.

My third MIM and lock gun and have enjoyed owning and shooting all of them.
