Just purchased a new M640-3. I knew the minute I picked it up it felt like a natural extension of my hand. I like the feel of a solid steel gun and don’t mind the weight. Shoots like a dream and will definitely go in my edc rotation. Stock grips are fine by me but I am looking to replace the front sight. Either with XS big dot or truglo tfx pro. I’m thinking the latter cause it has fiber optic for daytime and tritium for night combined. This little gem is definitely a keeper.

The last S&W that I Bought was this M69 Snubbie. My only regret is that they didn't come out with it 20yrs ago, so that I could have enjoyed it longer.

Bought a 638 last December and a couple weeks ago I brought home a 19-9. Both are excellent. The 19 especially.
I think of it as a M-19 Mod 2.

Like others a Model 69, 4" model.
Fits my grip so well. Kicks, yeah, but it's nice to have a smaller package .44. I love the two tone look also. Thanks to SportsmanSupply on Gun Broker, who sell about 1 a day, No Reserve, $0.01 starting bid, I walked away with one for $605, out the door from my local FFL.
LOVE IT. Yes it kicks a lot with full bore hunting loads, but I'll use it mainly with lighter loads. Something more than .44spl. It fits my hand will. Was able to keep 5 shot, SA, @ 25yds in the 8in circle.

Last September I started a search for a nice pre lock K Frame that wouldn't blow the budget (crazy concept, I know). That searched proved harder than I thought.
I thought I'd have to "settle" for a L Frame and I grabbed a 686-3 6" on new years eve, but I kept looking.
Of course, what happens when you look? You find something, but still, not a K Frame. A really nice 649-3 popped up at a price I couldn't pass up, so, it came home with me.
With a L and another J in the safe, I became determined to find the elusive K. Then it happened. A 64-3 stepped out of the woods and I nabbed it.
Now my thirst is temporarily satisfied and my stable suddenly has new family of -3s.

I haven’t fed her yet, but she seems tight as a drum and damn she’s pretty. S&W model 15-3 Combat Masterpiece. I’ve been cultivating a nice collection of nickel plated wheel guns and someone suggested this model would fit really nicely.
Edit - not a new gun, just new to me. I just realized this thread was intended for new models. My bad.

Picked up a 340 M&P awhile back that's been good for the 300rds I've put through it. (my hands prefer the 640 or 49 though ) And it doesn't have the infernal lock!

I've been thinking about adding a handgun I could hunt with for a while now. After some research I decided I wanted a 44 magnum. After that was decided I fell in love with this beauty!
She has an unbelievably smooth action, a ferocious bark and a bite like a T-rex and she looks good doing it!
I am obviously pleased!

New S&W Purchase
2 NIB S&W's. Model 41 50th Anniversary and S&W 52-1 Bought 5 extra mags for 52-1 and 4 of them need tuning as they are basically single shot stove pipers. I have tuned some High Standard Victors but no 52's. Anyone with any experience please feel free to enlighten me. Love the trigger on the 52-1. Best factory trigger ever. n c rod

Bought a NIB 686-6 from a club 30 gunsmith.
SA trigger pull is at 2.4lbs
I was in the business to buy a pre MIM before, but those will be sold for ridiculously high prices here in Germany.

I have managed to collect 55 S&W handguns, mostly used including a model one and one half from 1867. My purchases last year included two new Smiths, a 67-5 and a M&P 9 compact 2.0. Both of these have been 100 percent reliable as well as being well built and accurate.

I dunno if it’s love yet, but after years of pondering, I bought a 625 PC
One thing I can say I love is to HATE the candy cane grips. They were immediately replaced. Whoever designed them needs to be beaten severely.

Purchased a model 69 2-3/4" last month. Really like it a lot! Waiting on some 44 mag cowboy loads so I will have some brass to reload.

I bought a 60-15 last February but was not able to do much with it until recently due to winter. It shoots quite well for such a small package, I think it believes it is a 686...
Here it is along with its older 60-4 cousin.

Over the last couple of years I've bought;
1. 627-6 (X8) Pro Series
2. 66 2.75"
3. 640 Pro
4. 625 JM
5. 340 M&P
All have been outstanding; accurate, reliable, no canted barrels or other issues of any kind. I have a number of older models, as well;
1. 60 ND - purchased new in the early 80's for off-duty/backup
2. 36 ND
3. 28-2 4"
4. 586-3 4"
5. 625-3 4" (Model of 1989)
6. 629-5 4"
7. 624 ND 3"
8. 66-2 4" (last issued duty revolver)
9. 66-2 3" (detective duty gun)
10. 640-1
The point is that all of these revolvers have been great; new, old, whatever. The older guns have been trouble-free, as have the newer ones. I've had very few issues with my revolvers over many years. Those I have had, have been repaired to excellence by S&W, and those have been few and trouble-free.

At last got a good pair of grips for my engraved 60-7 to replace to ergonomic but rather ugly Pachmayr. Of course with Crossbreed holster.

I had a 442 for the last 5 years or so and loved it. The hammer stud broke on it and it went back to the factory. While it is gone I replaced it with a 637. Which so far I like. I can't say I LOVE the fact that it broke. But I LOVED shooting and carrying that gun.
I'm hoping I have better luck with longevity with the 637 and whatever I get back from the factory. I requested a 638 if they're going to replace it but they might not agree with that and just send me another 442.
What I'm tired of is on another forum, pretty much every time someone posts about a new gun someone has to say how terrible the lock is. It gets old. I'm planning on actually leaving mine in my 637. Maybe that's not a good idea. I don't know. But I think it's rare they lock up. And I plan to carry the other J frame in my backpack as a BUG in case any of them do have an issue. Because it might not be the lock that fails. Any gun can break in several areas. It's made of metal. Not diamonds.
It's not like I think the locks are a good idea. I just get tired of hearing how awful they are. Smith is not the only manufacture to put a lock on a gun. Admittedly, I'd rather it not be there. I may eventually get it out of there. But then there is that gap along the hammer. I'm not sure I like how much **** could get in there.

In January I bought a 27-2 long nose and have won and placed 2nd in local bowling pin competitions. Love it! Two weeks ago bought a 10 shot 17-8. Lots of fun with a speed beez loader!

Model 66-8
Got a new model 66 combat magnum recently. Great trigger, already smooth, tight lockup, and... love the blacked out trigger, ejector rod, and hammer! Makes me want to buy a second and “put it up.” Anyone know of other current production .357s or .22s with the black anodizing?

Got my first wheel gun yesterday so I don't really have any comparison, and I haven't fired it yet either. I ended up going with a Model 19 Carry Comp.

500PC and 629 Deluxe
I’ve owned Super Redhawks and a 29 before, but now know what a BIG gun really is, PC trigger is out of this world.
The 629, heeeaaavvvyy trigger, more than any wheelgun I’ve owned but she’s a looker. Some Hogue makes her a joy to hold.

My 686 plus PRO I bought last year.
I replaced the factory grip with hand carved roper grip.
I shoot it at 25 yards. I shot a target 50 yards away the other day.
