Default pawnshop find

I always read about guys on hear finding awesome deals in local pawnshops. Well I think I found a deal in my local store. They had a 65-7 3 inch lady Smith. No box but gun is 98%. Looked to have maybe a box of ammo put through it. They were asking 399 for it. I told they guy thanks but not interested. I started to walk out and he stopped me and said I could have it for $350 + tax. OTD price for $380. He gave me a box for a 625 he had laying in the back to take it home. How did I do?

THAT'S a heck of a deal in my area. Just try not to feel bad for the poor sap that pawned it for $200.

I bought a 28 no dash 6" in a pawn shop Friday for $230 out the door. Pawn shops are usually a gold mine.

The pawn shops around here are not like that. I can't buy any S&Ws for the prices asked and they will not budge. Congrats on a nice find and price.

I have flat out been told "I cant go that low, I have $xxx.00 in it". I then usually proceed to tell them that "You are either lying to me, or you flat out overpaid for it".

Usually after a few seconds of them sitting there dumbfounded, they either tell me to hit the road or come down to a more reasonable price.

These pawn shops buy guns for dirt cheap prices or are pawns that no one claims (that they end up getting for even less than they could buy it), they have huge margins because they get stuff so cheap.

So if they wont budge, they are just being completely greedy, or they are just paying too much for the goods, which I seriously doubt.

You don't see 65 LS's for sale very often. Great gun. I also have -5 bought NIB in 1996, (bought it for my fiancee and she gave it back before cancer took her away). I too visit the local Pawn shops, and have made some very good deals, IMHO. You got a great deal on yours. Enjoy and post some pics.
