Default Correct rear sight blade for 617-2 with 6" barrel.

I recently acquired a nice 617-2. It shoots well, but I had to lower the rear sight all the way down and it still prints about 1" above POA.
Comparing my gun to photos I have seen on Gunbroker, most others seem to have a shorter rear blade (although not all of them).
I do have a spare blade that is shorter than the one in there now. But before switching them out I'm curious whether anybody knows which rear blade is supposed to be on this gun. After measuring, I believe my gun currently has the 0.146" blade.
Yes, I know that I can call S&W customer service. But lately I have been following the 'trust but verify' policy because I have gotten some misinformation from them.
Thanks.

My 4 inch 617's blade was .160 high. I replaced it with a Jack Weigand rear blade of the same height but with a wider notch of .140. With a 6 o'clock hold, my 617 prints in the x-ring of the 50ft. NRA Slow Fire Pistol Target (B-2). That target has a 3 1/16" black center. It shot similar groups with the original blade. The wider notch just makes it easier to acquire a clear sight picture with my old eyes. Neither the new or old sight is/was bottomed out elevation wise......

I put a higher ramp type front sight on my 4" M617-0 because it was shooting near a 8 inches high at 25 yards with a 6 o'clock hold. Now, they all stay in the black at 25 yards. I also have a M617-0 6" and a M617-2 6" and with no sight changes, they both shoot like a rifle. Good hits on cans over 50 yards, offhand. Big Larry

I purchased a 6" and have the same problem of being bottomed out and still shooting about 2 inches higher than the letters on USPCA with a 6 o clock hold on them at 10.yards. Have you found a good front and rear setup.for.the 6"?
