Default Interested in 327 Fed.

I am trying to decide which revolver I would want in this caliber and am having not so good luck finding opinion on the Model 632. Any help would be good.
Stumbled upon this model/caliber while looking at the Model 60 with 3" barrel. I want a revolver with at least 3" barrel. I have looked at the SP101 as well and I guess I just do not have enough info.

I found my 632 online and there are still several on auction sites. I've been really happy with mine and it has become my favorite J frame. The 327 Magnum is a versatile chambering allowing you to shoot several 32 loads and the 32 H&R Magnum. I expect to see more models coming for S&W as it's popularity grows. If you find one, buy it, you won't be disappointed.

That one is quite nice!! Good to know that it has options to be dressed up. The one I am looking at has black grips and only steel front blade.

Mine originally came with black rubber Uncle Mikes grips that I changed to the excellent wood laminate Model 60 Pro grips from S&W. Other mods were having my gunsmith put a red insert into the front sight blade and installing a set of Wolff springs. The factory rubber grips are quite comfortable but I find the Model 60 Pro grips even more comfortable plus I think they look better. Putting a red insert in the front sight blade makes it easier to pick up though some may prefer to leave it black. The original Model 632 had a blackened finish with the white stainless examples being special runs for a couple distributors. Checking the S&W website both are shown and still available, and I just looked at Gunbroker and there are 10 of these listed up for auction, so they are out there.

Have Sp101 in 32mag and Blackhawk in 327 Fed.If you handload the 32 Mag can equal 327(brass as strong) But for self defence better to use commercial(for legal reasons they say) I use 32acp 32 long 32mag and 327 Fed (in BLackhawk)

I got the SP101 in .327 Fed Mag when it first came on the scene back
in 2008 and the M632-1 when it hit the shelves, same with the Charter Arms Patriot,
but, like a fool I let a friend talk me into selling him the Charter Arms, a model
that has since been discontinued. Last year I picked up a M632-2 and to date,
it's probably my favorite although it doesn't have a 3" bbl.

Between the SP101 & M632-1 (shown below), if I were to get another I would
opt for the Ruger. It just seems a little more robust and is a better fit, frame wise,
with the .327 Federal Mag round. With some shooting & Wolff Springs the trigger
isn't that bad, not as smooth as our S&W's mind you, but not bad either.

Here's the M632-2 that I mentioned, which is my wife's primary carry gun.

For those who may not be familiar with the versatility of the .327 Mag
Revolvers here are the rounds it accepts.

Left to right:
.32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R Mag & .327 Fed Mag

My wife chose the 632 for HD after trying out various revolvers. Fits her hand just right, right weight for her. We both like it that it can handle different loads. She started out shooting S&W .32 Long, I think another 100 or so rounds (if i can ever find jacketed HP rounds again, thanks hoarders) and I think she'll move up to H&R Magnum.

Similar situation. Bought a 632 for my wife a year ago...J frames fit her hand perfectly....she loves her model 34 but the recoil of the Chief's special was too much. She loves the 632 and has no problem with hot 32. mag handloads. Made me a .32 fan. So far I've added a Detective special in .32 long. Would love a 432 and a Ruger 101 next.

Like most others here, I had a 327 MAG. Again, like others have said you can shoot a wide range of ammo and it is not all that hard to find at decent prices. You can mail-order the stuff from various places. The 327MAG round is a bit pricy, but it's a man-size bullet. I also "trained" my wife on one working her up from the short. Something had to go out the other end of the pipe-line when I kept adding guns and the 327MAG had to go. When it was first introduced, many people said it would never last, it was just a novelty and only an effort to revive the 32-20. BUT...it's still here!
