DeerSlug,

I have an 8 3/8 inch barrel M586 on hold at my LGS. Price is $595.00+ tax. This is in my area and he is a bit high on most things. The only holsters I have carreid 8 3/8 inch guns in is the Bianchi X15. I think it's the extra large version. The large version will carry the six inch barrel. Bianchi has a website with a sizing chart that lists part numbers. Take a look. I'm sure there are a lot of other holster out there but I prefer a shoulder holster for the long barrel guns. Hope this helps and good luck.

Default thank you

Thank you Fredo that is about what they go for i think the last i checked one in 90% condition was worth about 500$ for a 6" barrel i got mine from a family member for 300$ was mainly checking prices so if i do sell it some day I would like to sell it for top dollar or as close to as possible.
I did find a holster i like at the S&W site its called the Kodiak it is a shoulder holster but it is for the mod. 500 which is a bigger gun so im not sure how much free play there will be if i was to get it. and thank you again for info on holsters ill look into it but so far the Kodiak is the one i like and is the closest to the size gun i have most holsters that ive seen are for smaller guns.

I had a 586 with the adjustable front sight that had 4 settings and sold it and it was a nice but heavy revolver. I don't know the brand but there is a cross chest holster for large revolvers out there as I had one years ago for my 7.5 inch Ruger Red Hawk.

Default fyimo

I seen one of those online yesterday they said they were used in competition shooting.
mines the combat version from what ive seen online and i do believe the police and state boys carried them in the 80's but they only had the 4 or 6" barrels on theirs.
and yes it is a pretty heavy piece but it is highly accurate and allot of fun to shoot.
