That's a tough one. It depends entirely on you, your build, your carry preference, your history, training, etc. Most shooters have a box (I have two) of holsters that for some reason didn't work out, but seemed like a good idea at the time. I could tell you what I like, but what I like doesn't mean it will work for you. If you can, I would suggest trying different kinds and styles and settle on what you like. Some gun stores and gun shows have selections of used gear, and perhaps will let you try them on.

A holster may be a more personal thing than the weapon it is to carry. Many paddle holsters work well, but they seem to work best with lighter weight, if full size weapons. I am sure there are some that work quite well with a 629 weight gun, but I tend to prefer an on belt holster for most anything. You have to assess your actual needs:

Quick access?
Secure retention? (under what conditions?)
Weapon protection?
Easy re-holstering?
One handed re-holstering? (you would be suprised at the number of holsters that need both hands to re-holster)
Concealment?

And most of all, is it comfortable to put on and off and to carry for long periods? I know that Clint says it is supposed to be comforting not comfortable, but if it is not comfortable you probably won't use it. YMMV.

I would recommend without reservation Lobo Leather for a holster for such a large heavy weapon(or any other gun for that matter).

+1 for Lobo. Personally I wouldn't ever get a paddle holster...especially for something heavy like that.

I just got a Triple K holster for my Model 27. It's snug as a bug in a rug, sturdy, and fits close to the body.

Thanks for the Info.
Not really sure what works, it is an N frame which is not all that concealable. Think I will go the direction of trying a couple of different holsters and see what happens.
