Hi all,
I just recently purchased a 642 in stainless. While I love the gun, one thing I am not crazy about is the stainless portion of the frame that shows through where the grip doesn't cover. I like to pocket carry the gun, but depending on the pocket, there are times where I can look down and see the silver just barely peeking out of the top of the pocket. I would prefer this portion of the gun be black.
Does anyone have any experience painting part/all of the 642 stainless version, and if so, what type of paint did you use? I was also considering using a black permanent marker, but wasn't sure if it would take.
Are there any black grips out there that will cover the backstrap and butt that do not add significant length? The only thing I have seen come close was the crimson trace over mold version, which while covering the backstrap does not appear to cover the butt. Again, I am not looking for anything that adds significant length.
In retrospect, i should have gotten the 442, but that is not an option at this point.
Thanks!
