Why does this keep happening to me?

I'm minding my own business. Then I see something like this Model 36 in great shape. Then a few minutes later, I'm walking out of the place with another gun

The local Cabela's had this sitting there for $359. Considering what anything new costs, I'm feeling pretty good. It has just a very few small marks - very high condition %. I've been frustrating with my 60-9 because it only carries IWB and I've been hoping to find a 36 like this or an older 60 so I could pocket carry.

The S/N is AEY53XX - if somebody could please date this for me, I'd really appreciate it. My copy of S&N is at home. I have another gun with an AVU prefix that dates to the late 80's so I'm thinking this thread belongs here.

Oh well...

Very nice looking 36 at a good price. I agree that you can not buy a new gun of comparable quality for anywhere near what you paid for that one.
