Default 357 Night Guard

Was lucky enough to find this gun last month is a big shop in Connecticut for only $600.00. The wholesale on these before they were discontinued was $750.00.

This is the gun before firing the first shot...Pachmayer grips were just too "round" for my hand and the trigger pull too heavy causing the shots to go high and right....

210 Berry's plated....

165 cast wadcutters....

Now updated with newer style S&W Combat grips...

..no more "hole"....thanks to Bullseye Smith...and a 13# trigger rebound spring...

6 rounds DA at 10 yards...210 Berry's plated with 8.0 Unique...950 from a 4"...shoots a tad high...and the wood grips do smack a little more than the rubbers... That bottom group was from a friend's .45 Commader....

18 rounds as fast as I could get back on target...the right was was a pull...first round from the last cylinder full...

With BigBrother 357 PD.... The NG has a U rear and large Dot tritium front and the PB has three dot tritium...

Now to find a holster for the NG.....anyone else shoot a NightGuard in any caliber? A friend has a .45 ACP and loves it...

I have a ng 357 as well. I swapped the rubbers for the same style combats and like them alot better. I picked up a desantis holster for mine and like it.

Have a DeSantis Speed Scabbard for the 4" gun but looking on their website they don't have one for the short barrels...and I don't want a thunbsnap which is all they list.

I'm thinking maybe a ElPaso Saddlery Double Agent as it is just like the old Askin's Avenger that I like for my 1911s....

"Double Agent" Dual Position Holster

Either that or a Simply Rugged Pancake....

Sourdough Pancake

Shot the gun with some handloads of 10 grains of Unique with 170 grain Sierra HP...the recoil was brisk with the wood grips. I didn't look at the Winchester box that I also took and when I pulled a round out I realized it was the old 210 HPs not the 175 SilverTips...so I passed beating the web of my hand any more....

Shot just about to POA...more experimenting to be done...

I'm on the fence as to whether or not I should pick up a 310NG. There is one I can get ahold of here, although it would be more like $850 not $600.

We do not know where you are. $850 is a bit high for a used one in my neck of the woods. If it is a new one at a dealer that might be a bit different. Probably that is a reasonable price if you are in California.

Like my 610s, I have opened up the chambers on my 310NG so that it can also shoot 10MM Magnum.

Try a Wild Bill's Concealment Speed Scabbard. I have one for my 386 NG and it's great!

As to holsters.

I have a few that were made for the 627/629/657 UDR revolvers. I have owned them way too long to remember where they came from, but the NG series works just fine in them.

I carry my 310NG in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake with Optional Inner Hammer Shield. I carry my reloads in a California Competition Works Moon Clip Carrier for the 7 Shot 686+.
Lobo Gun Leather - Home

I gave $750 for mine very slightly used. Couldn't tell it had been fired. Great carry gun. Works great with 40 S&W reloads.

Nice gun Bob, those feather weights are sweet to carry aren't they, a couple of questions, what do you carry the PD in? and I'm really interested in the sights you have on it, would you mind giving us the brand
Thanks

Bob
I have on my 325 NG what I think are the Aherns round butt wood combat non fingerless grips.

They are comfortable to shoot with standard 230gr 45 ACP ammo and 185gr +P ammo.

Of the NG series that caliber is probably the more useful. I shot my friend's 325 PD 2" the other day. He has ivory service stocks and a Tyler T-Grip...with 230 ball is was not bad to shoot and all the rounds were perfectly centered at 10 yards....
