I was looking at the GA site and to my amazment I saw a 686 SSR in 38 Super. S&W does not list it on their site and was wondering if it was an old model that they dropped or something new that hasn't been updated on their site. Would this gun eject normally without clips as it is a semi-rimmed ctg?. Jim

No idea if new or old production. I am about sure that it will require moon clips to eject properly.
I would consider it fairly desirable myself, if the price were reasonable. I like Moonclip revolvers, and have several.
I have a 686, 4" Barrel, 38/357 Moonclip conversion by Clark. It works great, but you have to sort the brass with 38 Special.
About 8-10 years ago, the Performance Center produced a run of ca. two hundred S&W 686's chambered for 38 Super. They use moonclips for loading the rounds. I have #2 of that run.
