Default Query: Please help me out here!

A friend, now the owner and widow of the former owner, is offering me the opportunity to buy a Model 29-3, 4-inch, which I figure to be around 85 percent condition. There is significant wear at the muzzle and also some wear on the leading side edge of the cylinder and a slightly worn area on the upper rear of the left-side shield.

I am seeking opinions of what would be a fair offer. The action is tight and smooth. I believe the piece was carried often (in a leather Bianchi holster) but not fired very much. I have not fired it.
Its serial # is AFE16xx.

Your responses would be appreciated.

I bought a29-3 two years ago. I paid $400 for it but it had some wear and one side of the rear sight was broken off so I had to buy a new blade for it. It was early enough that it had a N prefix on the serial number. Not pinned, not recessed but still a fine shooter. Hope this helps you.
